Bedazzled.tv's Spike Priggen has been using Modul8 software to do real-time veejaying. I like what he did with ‬Rufus Thomas'‪ ‬"Sixty Minute Man Part Two."‪ See more of Spike's videos at his YouTube channel.

The Snowden Principle

Yeah, if you know VJing, or more specifically, the software Modul8, there’s really nothing going on in this video. He fiddles with the color settings of one effect for three and a half minutes. There’s no crossfading of clips, he doesn’t even really seem to change the one clip he’s running the whole time.

Savage Henry shows you how live Vjing is supposed to be done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1bACrm3uVg (yes, that crazy issh is done live!)

Good aesthetic sensibilities trump operator involvement any day. Yeah he’s not doing much in terms of tweaking and live control, but the output visual is what counts. As a video artist who understands VJs and their respective software I think the result is really quite nice. Certainly better than average VJ work – I like it!

reminds me of commodore amiga demos circa 1992.

It seems like it’s all about the source footage: beautiful women, dancing decently. The vid effects are nice, but would not stand alone.

I’m sure Russ Meyer would’ve approved… for a hefty fee.
