An unnamed artist transformed a worn antique tabriz wool rug into a wonderful, fanciful bear rug. I imagine the reported "repaired knots and moth damage" just enhance its charm. 87" x 59", $1800 from CS Post.

Repurposed Antique Tabriz Wool Rug (via Make)

  • Monster skin rug
  • Relief map rug
  • World's biggest handmade rug

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

No wonder he was so easy to shoot, hard to miss that in the woods.

If done right, that head could come off and it becomes just an odd-shaped carpet… for when your boss comes over for dinner.

    Seconded.

But does it really count as “repurposed” if its purpose is still floor covering?

So, when the novelty wears off you’re stuck with a bad visual pun.

Interesting that people have a problem with the typewriter jewelry and book jewelry, but are indifferent to this rug situation.

I think this is pretty neat, but I also think the other two are pretty neat.
