Last year, I reviewed Peter and Max, the excellent novel based on Bill Willingham's Fables graphic novels. I've just got through listening to the Brilliance Audio unabridged audiobook, read by nerd icon and kick-ass voice-actor Wil Wheaton. Highly, highly recommended: Wil's interpretation makes this feel more like a radio drama than an audiobook.

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

#1 yes, you get a DRM free MP3 file on a disk if you buy it via the link

    WWWHHHEEAATTTOOOONNNNN!!!

Which format did you get it on, Cory? Am I right in thinking that the DRM-free MP3 is only available on a CD? I only use Ubuntu and as far as I can tell Audible is worthless to me. :(

I also like hWil hWheaton’s effort in this audiobook.

I’ve been listening to it for the past week, and it’s very nicely done.

This one was on my “to listen” list for a while before I even noticed that Mr. Wheaton was the narrator. Then one day I was picking my next audiobook, and said to myself:

“Hey, this audiobook has 100% more Wil Wheaton than most other audiobooks! Sold!”

Seriously. I said that. It was awesome.

It totally should have a sticker on it, “Now with 100% more Wheaton!”

Two words for you: Best. Seller.

  • Wil Wheaton

I had an incredibly good time performing this novel. It was even more important to me than usual that it didn’t suck, because I’m such a huge fan of Bill’s work, and he’d asked me personally to narrate Peter and Max.

I’m chuffed that you liked it, Cory. Thanks!

Is there a word for the feeling you get when you are discussing someone and then they suddenly show up? Cause this happens on Boing Boing ALL THE TIME.

Wil Wheaton is like the Jesus of the Internets. Wherever two or more are gathered in his name, there his is in the midst of them.
