It's time for Sweet Streets 2, an art exhibition at Nucleus Art Gallery in Alhambra. Opening reception is 9/11/2010. Video above is from last year's Sweet Streets.

Gallery Nucleus & Caro are excited to reprise the highly successful SWEET STREETS exhibit sponsored by Hi-Fructose, Tokyofashion.com and SOSO Happy! Last year’s colorful exhibition inspired by Japanese streets attracted hundreds of art and fashion enthusiasts. This year, SWEET STREETS 2 aims to top the last with internationally known artists, photographers, and fashion designers.

(I sure love that song. It's Girigiri Surf Rider, by Halcali.)

SWEET STREETS 2 (Thanks, Barry!)

You’re more than welcome. Odds are good that the girl & I will be there Saturday night.

I’d swear there was some Jamie Hewlett in there. I looked at the roster for Sweet Streets, but he wasn’t listed.

    So close but in crunch!

I’ve been there before and it has a great selection of all kinds of geek gear: books, t-shirts, vinyl figures.

I consider it on par with Giant Robot off of Sawtelle.

Need to go again soon. :)

that track is from the Halcali Bacon album: great stuff! Those gals have got style, flow. . .and moxie!

I like most of this work but the presentation seems very uneven. What I mean is that unframed paper pieces being held with clips (and a spiral-bound torn edge) does not belong anywhere near a show containing work by Junko Mizuno.

I think those were drawn in-show?

        I sure hope so.
Even with work done at a show I’ll pack along pre-cut mats and polybags so they’re present well. I’ve had too many people comment that the art would look better framed
