Halloween display creator seeking funding on Kickstarter

Peter Montgomery of Glendale, CA has developed a reputation for making mind-bending Halloween displays. Check out his past work here.

gerG says:

Peter has created some of my favorite Halloween displays EVER. His sunken pirate ship, and that amazing crashed locomotive were the most startling constructions I've seen.  And his robots.  OMG.

Peter's been talking about a totally new display this year.  As you can see by the pic, he wants to build a steampunk earth-boaring device, digging up his front driveway!

Please look at his page on Kickstarter.  Forward it to friends who might like to learn about his show.  Share it with people who support the arts!

He needs $2,000 to fund it. Peter's amazing Halloween display

  1. Wow. I’m glad I don’t live in this guy’s neighborhood. It would be pointless to try to out-decorate him.

  2. I told my wife about this guy and his project, and while we both think what he does is great, she thinks it’s wrong for him to beg for donations to do it.

    1. I don’t see how it’s “wrong” to have an open call for donations to fund any art project. Wrong to have an expectation of donations, maybe… but it doesn’t appear that he’s hitting up reluctant neighbors for the cash.

You want to see unrepentant begging? Take a gander at all those trick-or-treaters.

  3. Simply Awesome!

As far as it being wrong to “Beg for donations”, I wouldn’t do it, Mrs. Faris wouldn’t do it, but Peter Montgomery can do as he wishes.

I would help, or donate if I had a neighbor with such a talent and willingness to decorate.

  4. I think it’s boring. Fun, exciting but boring. Not and Earth-boaring machine. An Earth-boring machine. And pretty awesome.
