This presentation from RSA Animate is an excellent introduction (dare I say it, “book trailer”) to “Where Good Ideas Come From”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NugRZGDbPFU

Can we give credit where credit is due here? That’s a gorgeous book cover.

Reminds me of the stuff from the Science of the Discworld books where they talk about “extelligence”… Intelligence without extelligence is like a combustion engine without fuel.

Similarly, extelligence without intelligence is like fuel without an engine. Like comments on youTube.

It’s a cute name, but I hope it doesn’t become a common word – “intelligence” comes from “inter”. We have enough vocabulary based on misunderstandings as it is.

Oh absolutely. Next thing you know, people will be talking about bi-cycles and tele-visions, and all sorts of other linguistic nightmares. Nouns will be verbed. Similes will be all like, you know, WHATEVER.

Dude, it’s the English Language. The Chuck Norris of communications protocols. It commits atrocities against its own rules, puts on shades and says “deal with it”.
