At the risk of incurring Xeni’s wrath (I’d only be really worried if she personally showed up at my door to punch me in the gut), the content of her sarcastic response is theoretically possible.

(Stop here if you’re a “TL;DR” sort of person)

Since there are YouTube proxies available which allow non-UK viewers to watch BBC’s content, surely it should be possible to create a proxy which, after X seconds (automagically detecting bad words would be a non-trivial task – let’s keep it easy), would mute the original audio and replace it with a bleep for Y seconds.

Or, just download the video, edit in a bleep, upload it to your own channel, and embed that instead. Your choice.

Yeah, or they could hire a look-alike to re-record the whole thing, and bleep it out. That’s possible too. Or perhaps they’ve found a wormhole in the space-time continuum, and travel back in time and edit in the bleeps before it gets uploaded.
