From the Boing Boing DIY costume thread, deep@worker-bee.com says,

Here's a quick set of pictures of my latest Disco Ball costume, Disco Ball 5.0 - every few years I make a better version & this is the best yet :-)

I made the whole thing and have an iPod powered sound system in it. The videos give you a sense of that.

I'll have full 'making of' details on my website soon, but if you poke around the link here you'll find older versions and some of my other costumes.

Whoa, this is a first for me! That’s my friend Deep!

He’s also the amazing organizer of the San Francisco based Flash-Dance, wherein by internet, twitter, and some great speakers (attached to a big trike) dance parties are organized on the fly.

I definitely recommend checking out his site.

    Five mutant thumbs up!

Yeah, that’s my friend Deep, too! Known him since he was a student at Duke.

What is the official name for those mirror disco balls, if there is one?

Those awesome Disco Balls pants are made by Betabrands.

You can read more about them here:

Damn, my friend and I were going to do this a couple years ago. My friend is uh…round so we were going to glue the mirrors directly to his shirt. I was going to be the light. I would bend over, hit a button and a light on my head would shine while my friend slowly turned. Couldn’t find a supply of mirrors at a reasonable price though.

Deep! On the front of BB!

He brings much happiness and joy to any and all street events in San Francisco.
