Virgin America and Google to offer free inflight WiFi over the holidays
For the second year in a row, Virgin America and Google are teaming up to offer free Gogo in-flight wireless internet for passengers during the holiday season, as a promotion for Google's Chrome browser. Shame. Virgin and Gogo fail to mention that making the in-flight wifi free makes it almost worthless as the connection is over-saturated. The tragedy of the commons plays out again.

I’ll be flying with them next week for the first time, unfortunately missing the start of the promotion by two days. I’ll be returning during the promotion, so I’ll be sure to take advantage of it.
Every time i come to boingboing with google chrome, there is a 20 second freeze up before i can actually browse the site. Its sad because boingboing is 2nd in my rotation behind my email :(
