Enemy585 is a reverse-platformer: imagine a Super Mario style flashgame, except you play the little platform that Mario rides on, and your job is to carry him to safety. Meanwhile, all the bad guys of the dungeon flash thought-bubbles at you explaining what they're doing and how they feel about it.

Enemy585 (via Super Punch)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

More of a goomba-like character than Mario. You helping one of the baddies backtrack though the levels, hence the name.

Looks more like you’re a platform bringing revenge on Mario by helping enemy 585 to be honest.

there is a small error in the post: you’re not trying to save Mario, but one of the “evil” minions. Even if you dont like the game (I don’t, it’s too slow), you should load it just to appreciate the humor of the introductory sequence.

im gonna make this game exept you play as mario,i know were to get the sprites from this game.

This reminds me of a great game I picked up a week ago: Ivy the Kiwi. In that, you draw vines to lead a kiwi chick to the end of the level. You can also make the vines act as swings or catapults. It’s a great game, too.

I’m surprised that a Nitrome game hasn’t been featured on here sooner. Their games are a bit processor-intense for my old machine, but the interesting gameplay, cute characters, and catchy ‘chiptune’ soundtracks often make up for it. (I have no relation to Nitrome :) )

Oh, wow, I didn’t even realize there was a control for rotating. Now I feel stupid.

I keep getting stuck at the spike pit, and the worst part is if I could just get him to turn around it would be so easy, but i can’t figure out how to make him go the other way without a wall!

“I can’t figure out how to make him go the other way without a wall”

      Seriously, dude:
Rotate your platform 90° and you ARE the wall!

As for the speed thing: there is an option to speed up the gameplay. This game is becoming downright addictive!
