So let’s say someone’s looking for a gig in the glamorous world of publishing. From that wording, it’s implied that this is someone who doesn’t currently have a job in the glamorous world of publishing.
This particular glamorous publisher, though, is looking for an “experienced full-time editor”, which implies someone who already has a gig in the glamorous world of publishing, or at least has had several years of experience at such a glamorous gig.
What am I missing here, besides the fact that it’s nearly impossible for new graduates with no work experience to get their foot in the door these days?
(disclaimer: I am a recent graduate with no work experience, and it is impossible for me to get my foot in the door these days)
I’d work for them right after they actually start paying their authors and answer the phone when they call. (Go ask Liz Williams and others about this…)
