A crosswalk signal in Spokane, Washington made the news after flipping off pedestrians. City workers blame it on snow rather than pranksters. I prefer to think that the electronic sign has become sentient. From KXLY: ible.
Fingersign City of Spokane spokesperson Marlene Feist says that street department personnel think the electronic sign may have snow somehow wedged into the sign, obscuring all but the palm and raised middle finger.

Feist added that clearly the display is “unintentional.”

Heh, just snapped this shocker in Queens, NYC yesterday: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cageitfallsinto/5226037262/

“HONEY? THIS MACHINE’S CALLIN’ ME AN ASSHOLE!”

This quote becomes more and more pertinent everyday. (In my head, anyways)

    Ugly duck = bird. ;)

The kids of today modded three of the four corners on a crosswalk in my old neighborhood. They made a devil horns, shaka and a bunny. They mercifully did not include a bird or a shocker.

Yeah, the park street crosswalk sign by the old southeast dorms in Madison used to be flipping the bird 10 years ago when I was a freshman. It’s good to see the natural progression of things.

Hey, I used to live in Spokane… It’s gotta be real (unintentional). They’ve had blizzards for a couple weeks. Stuff like this could easily happen.

BTW, did you cut off the SExx of the motel sign?

This crossing sign from Madison, WI is really shocking.

Unintentional? That’s the best proof that the sign became sentient!

Yep. It’s also the hero of every other crossing sign in the nation.

street department personnel think the electronic sign may have snow somehow wedged into the sign

Yeah, I could think that from here. Would it be too much to expect one of them to have gone and checked it out in person?
