Kevin Bacon plays his own superfan in creepy verisimilitude in this ad for the Google TV-based Logitech Revue. It's like Being John Malkovich crossed with Misery crossed with a Fargo-like sense of wonder (before the woodchipper comes out).

    I like that guy.

Wouldn’t Kevin Bacon be ZERO degrees removed from Kevin Bacon? Although I guess technically Kevin Bacon has appeared in 71 movies with Kevin Bacon.

    • MrsBug

Zero degrees….I wonder if we’re getting close to an infinity loop there? Next stop: Kevin Bacon time travel!

As if Kevin Bacon couldn’t get any cooler…

I Just read the youtube text that goes with the video, the character he is playing is named Ivan Cobenk = Kevin Bacon.

  • andyhavens

Kevin Bacon’s Kevin Bacon Number = Chuck Norris

    Kevin Bacon for President!

And I’ve got some big underground critters need exterminatin’.

I think this ad is so funny. I don’t know what it is, I really don’t like Kevin Bacon, but its really funny to me. I also like the Logitec Revue. I bought it at work (DISH Network) and ever since the internet is way more enjoyable. It’s much easier to watch Youtube videos and check my email on a 52 inch plasma, than it is on my dinky computer monitor.

I was 99% sure that it was Kevin Bacon in the ad when I saw it earlier tonight. And now I know.

Most commercials are awful, and I can’t stand watching TV because of them. But recently, being unemployed and living with my parents, I’ve been watching TV anyway because it’s there. I still hate the commercials (especially that DirecTV one where the robots are fighting in a guy’s house and he pauses them – it’s instantly boring), but I saw this one today and was genuinely intrigued. I couldn’t tell if it was him or not – but either way it was really cleverly written and carried out (it couldn’t have worked if it wasn’t actually him, of course).

However, as with most clever commercials, the actual product hardly mattered. I couldn’t have told you what it was for – I remember him searching for Kevin Bacon movies on the TV so I knew it was something related to TV but that’s it.

A very, very funny, clever and wonderfully creepy commercial!

And #2 is right. Have not the vaguest idea of what they were trying to sell me (as if ANY of us could actually care).

I always thought the ads were better than the programs. Except for the Dick Van Dyke Show. That Sally Rogers was a real pistol.

I KNEW IT!!!!! I just saw the commercial for the first time today! LOVED IT! I am a huge Kevin Bacon fan! This commercial has made me want to go out and buy the Google T.V. system. (As soon as I go back to work :) Thank you to Kevin Bacon and Google/Logitech for such an awesome commercial!
