The Krzywy Domek (Crooked House) is part of a shopping center in Sopot, Poland. The 2004 structure looks like a set from Das Kabinett des Doktor Caligari, but according to Wikipedia, it was "designed by Szotyńscy & Zaleski who were inspired by the fairytale illustrations and drawings of Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg." The Snowden Principle

saw that this year when i was in poland in august, at first i thought i had a flashback hehe, quite interesting, after wards i went to the concentration camp trip….so it was a bizzare day…..sad as well…

  • erg79

I wouldn’t want to visit that with a hangover.

I’ll admit that I’m not familiar with Jan Marcin Szancer or Per Dahlberg, so the first thing I thought of when I saw this was Frank Gehry.

  • murrayhenson

As far as I recall there is a rather gaudy bar inside so most people just take a picture and continue on down the street. The rest of the tri-cities area is a great place to visit though.

Wanna piss of James Howard Kunstler? Show him this picture and tell him it’s a tattoo parlor.

  • efergus3

    Great shrooms dudes.

Much like the Dancing House restaurant in Prague…

Wow, I hadn’t seen that Dancing House. Very trippy. Thanks!

There’s a good bar inside, first floor… “ZÅ‚a Kobieta” (“Bad Girl”).

Reminiscent of the crazy webs are poor polluted spiders make now.

Looks like a Mike Maydak painting.

‘shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels.

    • Anonymous

People have been saying they have been there. And you say ‘shopped?
Slap your forehead. Face palm it. Now. And hard.

    • Anonymous

It’s not ‘shopped. Here is an entire set of pictures: http://oursurprisingworld.com/krzyvy-domek-sopot-poland/

My eyes actually hurt when I view that image.

  • CuttingOgres

I can’t imagine getting an order for cutting those windows.

    • S2

Had the same thought about fixing the roof.

    Ever heard of Gaudi?

  • snakedart

I’d like to see a building inspired by the paintings of ZdzisÅ‚aw BeksiÅ„ski. Now that would be trippy.
