    They paint like I type.

    [lease/least]

How am I going to operate my digital watch NOW??

  3. sdmikev says:

I like the case and the face, but do not like:
The too narrow lug width for the strap.
Quartz movement. I only like mechanical watches and have a slight fetish for them..
Minor irritation: Left handed crown, but that’s by design, as they say.

    • SamSam says:

Hear, what is with the left handed crown? About half of the Tsovet watches have it one one side, and half on the other. Is it some comment on the handedness/sinisterness of the people who wear these watches?

Agree about the strap width, it;s hard to tell but I think it’d look really odd on.

  4. Jake Bullet says:

By my eyes, it could get 8-more-black.

A watch only William Gibson could love. (I kid.) And Cory’s hailed Watchismo in the past, nothing new here.

A nice “Disaster Area” watch to go with the decor on their spaceship’s control panels.

    *Obligatory Hotblack Desiato/Disaster Area/Stunt-Ship comment*

I had the all black Swatch, got it back in 1989… Was heller hard to read in the darkness of the bars though…!

As for the comment of an all black watch being for irresponsible people, just check the website that watch originates on; you will find some single hand watches, meaning they only have hour hands and you get three hash marks between the hours to tell the minutes…

Not a fan of the square watches, but there is a nice one by the same manufacturer that is round and all black…

    8-ball

What’s the logo above the 6 and below the hands say? Has it been airbrushed out or just painted over? Is it the name of the manufacturer of the movement?

Reminds me of the Swatch Blackout I had in high school. I loved that watch so much I hunted down another one a couple of years back, and now it’s my dressy watch.

Huh, I *just* got some watchismo tsovet spam in my inbox. Coincidence?

The fill-in painting on the hour hand looks pretty shabby for a watch trying to pull in near $600.

You’d think that they’d at lease make one well painted example to serve as a photo model.

    I love the specs:

    CASE: BRUSHED PVD BLACK
    TOP RING: BRUSHED PVD BLACK
    CASE BACK: BRUSHED PVD BLACK
DIAL: MATTE BLACK BDL/GLOSS BLACK MARKERS (NOT LUMINOUS)
BAND: BLACK LEATHER / BLACK LEATHER BACK
    BUCKLE: BRUSHED PVD BLACK
CROWN: POSITION: 9 / BRUSHED PVD BLACK
    HANDS: BLACK (NOT LUMINOUS)

I’d only wear that until they came up with something darker.

A decent craftsman is noted for their attention to detail, a joiner/cabinet-maker for example would ensure all screws to be pretty much in the same position.
On a watch costing $595 I’d expect no less.

    Looks pretty cool otherwise.

  18. arikol says:

    what a rip-off!
I mean, WHITE date, WTF is that all about?

Not for me while they don’t put any effort into making it properly black!

  19. Anonymous says:

black? pish posh. let me know when they make a fuligin watch.

  20. muteboy says:

I read the date as “infinity”.

    Whoa.

  21. Karnuvap says:

    Pfsst!
I still have my black Swatch that has a black strap and a black face with black numbers and black hands. And NO white date digits.

Definitely blacker than this effort but my poor eyes are not what they used to be and I have shelved it for a much clearer and easy to read Tissot.

A must-have for all members of the Black Watch regiment.

  23. Anonymous says:

Does it come with a free flashlight? You wouldn’t want to live too far north with that watch.

  24. misadventures213 says:

    Black is the new black.

  25. spool32 says:

I must be missing the point as well. Surely the point of a watch is to tell the time… ? Is wearing one you can’t read a sort of ironic comment about … something?

    Bwuh?

  26. Anonymous says:

Awesome! I actually like the watch. At first glance, I was not sure, but yeah…I would buy one!

  27. egoVirus says:

I realize I might well be missing the point, but is this watch designed for irresponsible people or something? 10 points for coolness, but like – a million practicality [in low light]. Now, if the numbers were slightly raised, and subtly back-lit, and you could change the colour of that back lighting, you could charge another G easily…

  28. David Llopis says:

USD 600 and it tells time almost as accurately as my iPhone, and it’s blacker, too!
I swear I got my first mobile phone before anyone else I knew not only because I’m a gadget freak, but also because my wrist is too… dainty for a proper man’s watch.

Looks more like a Bell + Ross BR03-92 Phantom knockoff than an upscale Swatch.
