Are you sure the over-dub/description was Russian? I could swear I heard a Finnish swear, P*rk*l* (censored the vowels, not sure how to correctly handle it) at 6:40 or so.

Matrix + Terminator + (x)ollywood.

Very derivative. But highly entertaining regardless. CGI math nerds go nuts.

I thought the prog rock comment was perceptive. But I happen to love technical overboard anyway. Even though I'm just as happy (more so) watching Stalker or listening to TG.

> The best part is when the giant robot flips the bird and the little robot who is his middle finger also flips the bird.

It gets better. I happen to have a CSI:Miami-type supercomputer. So when I watched the clip, I just said "Enhance" (continuously) into my mic, and was able to see that each robot's middle finger contains another robot flipping the bird, seemingly to infinity.

I saw this in the theater, and thought it was not the worst Bollywood (or Kollywood in this case) movie I've ever seen...but it was close. The final scene was technically impressive, but was too long. On top of that, they missed the opportunity to get some comedy out of the twins plot. The TV show Automan (in the episode where Automan watches too much Dallas and falls in love with Delta Burke) is a far more convincing story of android-human infatuation.

That said, there are plenty of bad movies out there, at least this one has singing, dancing, and some fairly high-quality CGI.

Lucky bastard. I've only got a Bladerunner-type supercomputer as imagined in the 80's. It takes me like twenty minutes of yelling coordinates and commands, and then ordering 'Stop!', to zoom in on anything. And when I did I think the robot was giving the bird, but it was all fuzzy, so I can't really tell.

This only reminded me of why I hate directors who think moar stunts moar guns and moar <INSERT EXPENSIVE CONSUMER ITEM HERE> blowing up = a great film. The only difference between this and a Hollywood effort is the cars are real and not CG and I can't help thinking whoever made it would take that as a compliment.

There's musical numbers, too-and they are amazing! Actually, the music is great, real head bopping stuff.
Is Endhiran cheesy? Yes. Are the effects improbable, and bloody awful? Yes. Is it full of tropes? And then some! Like, robot falling in love with the female lead. Troptastic, tropalicious, trope-a-doped to the gills, a tropoholic's wet dream!
And does it effortlessly kick ass over anything Hollywood has to offer? Absolutely. This is moviemaking, Hollywood. Take note, and step aside. To rephrase Lou Reed: "Hollywood. Stick a fork in it's ass and turn it over. It's done."

Relax guys. This is a comedy. That is why the action is both cheesy and over the top. Also comedies don't have to obey the laws of physics or common sense.

I did appreciate the inclusion of the Wilhelm Scream though.

Why is it overdubbed in Russian? Also, there's another sound effect I recognized - it's used in World of Warcraft when someone attacks you while you're mounted, and your mount makes a noise.

I'm not the kind that likes pure action movies.

But that video was FUCKING INSANELY AWESOME.

Geometric assembling destroying robots- somehow felt real. The movement felt perfectly robotic, angular and instantaneous, the way it really would if robots shaped like that existed. I have never been so convinced that I was watching a real humanoid robot.

It was like a spherical phalanx of killer robots. I fucking love this!!

I don't get why people think she's so attractive. Attractive yes, but not mind-blowingly so - just not my type, I guess. Maybe it's just because she, and the girl who played Latika in Slumdog Millionaire I guess, are the only Indian girls most people in the west are familiar with?

I've seen Indian women (actresses and people I've met in real life) who were much more attractive than Aishwarya Rai - the girl from 3 Idiots is one example I can think of, but not necessarily the most attractive.

Then again, she's got a very glamorous Angelina Jolie look, and I don't find Jolie attractive either. As I said - just not my type :)

I was going to comment about the video, which I thought was awful (though I did make it through the whole thing), but my complaints have mostly been covered by others. So I had to comment about something else.
