In stores on April 20: Ziggy Marley's Marijuanaman.

Based on a character conceived of by Ziggy Marley, written by Man of Action Studios  and illustrated by Jim Mahfood, Marijuanaman promises to shatter all expectations -- this is not the comic you think it is! The oversized deluxe hardcover graphic novel tells the tale of a noble extraterrestrial champion, who has arrived on Earth to deliver an important message and at the same time save his own planet.

"Marijuanaman represents the hope of the future... the hope that we will utilize all of the power that the universe has given us to save our planet," Marley explained.

Could it be that this movie is about hemps nutritional value and the (green) industrial uses of hemp fibre and oil or how about renewable energy from hemp oil? These are the reasons people think hemp can save humanity from itself (the mellow buzz helps too). I eat hemp nut as part of my breakfast and you can actually get an ice-cream like hemp product if you want to. Neither of these will give you any buzz at all. I also wear hemp cloths and smoke BC bud. I’m curious to see what Ziggy has come up with.

And by “utilize,” I mean smoke, and by “power,” I mean marijuana. Just so we’re clear. Up up and away!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds exactly like the comic I thought it was.

Funny timing, this, for me on a personal level. 3 weeks ago I finally kicked a 25-year, 2 to 3 grammes-per-day grass and hashish habit. I’m not saying it was easy, but the hardest part was the tobacco which we Europeans tend to mix in to make our joints. 30 or so years ago I did a bit of heroin over a 3 month period, just smoking it Chinese-style. At the end of the 3 months I was smoking a bit every evening, let me tell you getting off that was much harder than quitting the THC. Conclusion : the weed ain’t so bad, just mind the quantities and beware of too much regularity

I look forward to MM battling Son Of Sativa, who gained his powers in a deal with the Devil. He gained a head full of pot when the demon traded him this power for his bitchin’ jacket.

I wish people would stop romanticizing drugs to the extent they do. I am not anti drug by no means but penicillin has been much more important than something like marijuana will ever be.

Anon #2: For the Rastafari, marijuana is a bona fide religious sacrament.

Why should they not praise what their religion holds sacred?

Anyway, the novel looks interesting, but my real motive was to remind people of the anniversary of Bob Marley’s birth (I do believe he is related to Ziggy), coming up Feb 6 – less than a hundred hours to go!:)

Right. People of Earth. I’ve got an important message to deliver to you. It’s written down somewhere. I had it when I got off the ship… I came down the ramp… walked up to the podium… just talk amongst yourselves, I’ll be back in a minute.

Funny, all pot did for me was make me paranoid, lazy, and delusional. I guess I was smoking the wrong kind.

    • sg1969

Not really the wrong kind, just that you couldn’t handle the drug.
Most problems with drugs, is caused by people who can’t handle it but still do it.

I smoke weed every day, all day, have been for the last 12 years or so, even have a quick smoke before going to work.
It does not affect my performance, it does not make me miss work, I still go out and hang out with friends.
As far as I know, other than the effects of smoking, it isn’t harming me in any way
