I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

rocking it while i study sylow’s theorem.

    TORRENT!

  • querent

Unzipping a direct download made me remember the smell of my Tandy overheating (don’t hate…my dad ran a radio shack).

  • cuo

@filkertom the problem is not all nerdcore is funny. it’s not a parody genre by default. it’s hiphop, and since hiphop is ostensibly about being true to yourself, that results in nerdcore when nerds make rap. some of it is funny, but well, a lot of rap is geared around punchlines and twists of phrase. there are a lot of nerdcore songs that are anything but funny.

  • travtastic

Bulbasaur is maybe the greatest song I’ve ever heard.

Just a heads up, the site’s online again!

  • AT203

From the website: This file is also torrented massively right now. But please download at your own risk from a torrent.

Well if you nimrod’s had just posted it to BitTorrent in the first place, you wouldn’t have over-bandwidth issues, or authenticity issues.

    You call yourself nerdcore? Failcore.

    • Owen

“Well if you nimrod’s had just…”

Someone needs to listen to MC Frontalot’s “Tongue-Clucking Grammarian”.

Actually, everyone should. It’s good stuff.

  • filkertom

I hope no one objects to my mentioning The Funny Music Project ( http://www.thefump.com ), where we’ve been doing this stuff and more for years. And our servers can take it. ;)

Not at all! We are definitely brother-in-arms, no doubt about that. (this is Klopfenpop, one of the mods at NerdcoreNow.com)

Have you had a chance to check out my good friend MC 117′s track on the comp? It’s “Bulbasaur”, his parody of “Handlebars” by the Flobots. He would fit in very well over at the FuMP. :)

I recently had the pleasure of booking Death*Star for Rustycon 2011, these guys are off the hook!

    Timmy!!!

You all need to google “LP of Devastation”, download it, and listen to it before you call anything else in the entire fucking world “nerdcore.”

Then, when you’re all “holy shit” you need to donate money to the people that made it.

  • Dr.Arthur

And this, Timmy, is why we make torrents.
