I just use my thumbnail. Perfect thickness and stiffness for most plastic seams, and causes little or no damage to the case. If I damage the nail, it’ll grow back.

What happened to the tried and true technique of using a guitar pick? That being said the plastic tool that once came with a replacement iPod battery many years ago has worked fantastically on my laptop.
