  1. Quite a few visitors would openly wonder why Nixon was presented with a wristwatch that could be used only on the moon.

    Maybe it was a hint.

  2. I don’t think the article shows the moon “has its own time zone” (whatever that means), but rather that someone carved it up into multiple time zones, on the basis of the lunar equivalent of an hour.

    I’m surprised Maggie’s communication instincts (which are generally excellent) led her to choose this particular misleading phrase from the article for this post’s heading.

    (Actually, problem solved if rather than directly quoting from the piece we say “the moon has its own time zones” (plural).)
