Major Neese's "Neesful Katamari" is a fine 8-bit Katamari Damacy tribute, with the little prince rolling through and rolling up some of the great classic video games.

Neesful Katamari (via Waxy)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Ahhh who doesn’t like seeing their favorite obscure video game referenced?

    The pleasures of old timers.

    Smurf Rescue! Sorry, but…Smurf Rescue!

Oh man, I wish they would release another Katamari game. I have a PS3 and Katamari Forever is one of two games I like on that system (the other is Little Big Planet). If there was ever a game that could use a level designer and sharable levels (like LBP), Katamari is it.

wow, H.E.R.O. made it in. impressive.

What was the name of the game at 1:54? I remember playing that on my Amiga.

Looks like “Cannon Fodder” to me.

        THANK YOU!

          THANK YOU BOTH!

Seriously, that was the only game that I freaked out about, and thought “I played that all the time!” but couldn’t remember what it was called.

I was happy to see Discworld make an appearance in there, but I don’t know that I would ever call it a “classic” game. ^-^

wow, this is so wonderful in so many ways… my only quibble is that, to be really perfect, the king should give him a backhanded compliment about his effort, humiliating him anyway, and then send him back to try harder next time. at least, that’s how every game *i* played went. stupid king… no, i’m not scarred, honest. : )

      it’s good to be king.
