The technology that links taxonomy and Star Trek

huff…i want to take everyone who dresses up like heath ledgers joker and shoot them to the moon.

    • dculberson

      His Joker was amazing.

      • wigg1es

So amazing that no one can do it justice. It be better they not try.

  • BWJones

Mark, what’s with the middle finger?

  • DamnitDani

I loved the Dr. Who duo. The Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith. :D

  • Anonymous

And I LOVED the fact that there was a group doing an impression with Dr. Girlfriend and a different group doing an impression with Dr. Mrs. This looks like geek heaven.

  • CyberIstari

Nevermind the JL – River Song! King of the Nazgul!

  • Tarliman

I like the guy done up as Thor, even if the rings on his maille are too big for it to hang well. Not many cosplayers go in for real maille, in my experience as a maillemaker.

‘People, people. I’m shooting VIDEO. No need to pose motionless.’

  • jonw

This looks better than the Elfquest video.

  • deckard68

Loving the shallow depth of field that DSLR camcorders provide. (Or whatever camera did this). So much better than in years past when there was no distinction between subject and background. Oh and also, boobies.

“When people stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing — they believe in anything.”

    GK Chesterton

  • fnc

Ditto on the middle finger thing. I’m familiar with a perhaps older version of that meme, but don’t think I get the meaning here. Is it an Idiocracy reference?

  • Anonymous

At 3:27, is that a FreakAngels wingset I see?

  • grimc

The middle finger seems character-appropriate for Tank Girl and Hit Girl, the two i saw doing it.

  • Nicky G

I think the gal in the poster frame might have popped out there.

  • Anonymous

I liked seeing the Blackhawk crew member at 1:04.

  • Kieran O’Neill

I’m liking that Superwoman is rocking a 40s style haircut, invoking an era in which women were (relatively) more empowered than the ones immediately before and after…

    • Anonymous

Yes. AND she’s got Clark Kents’s trademark cowlick. Great job of imagining what a woman from the 40s would have done if she was born with Clark’s hair.

  • InsertFingerHere

Imagine going to this event wearing what you think it the most awesome and unique Boba Fett costume, then seeing another dozen guys all in the same getup.

Sniff.. smell that boy? Smugness. heavy & thick.

    • jere7my

Inside of a minute, all thirteen of them would be swapping flamethrower-gauntlet construction tips.

  • meatpigeon

any more detail on the artist doing the background music? It was pretty rad…

    • jordan314

      Agreed. From the youtube info:

Music: The Way Forward by Trip Trap
      available at http://www.mikehoffman.bandcamp.com/album/the-new-alphabet

  • deft

    Go Team Venture!

  • StAlfongzo

This was alot of fun! I’m in the background at 3:37!

  • Anonymous

I know I’m late getting to this, but my favorite shot in the entire video is the 2 seconds of the stairs and escalators at 1:49.

I love all the costumes shown but that quick shot of the stairs absolutely cracked me up.

I accidentally discovered that this song works as a wonderful alternative soundtrack, especially if you sync the two at their beginnings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdN2bfov9JQ

    Seriously, try it!

  • PrettyBoyTim

My favourite is the zombie stormtrooper.

    • Alan

      That and the Elvis stormtrooper.

  • MelSkunk

Looks like fun, though given the gender-swap justice league part is maybe 15 seconds of the video, the title is a wee bit misleading.

  • Boondocker

Love that (those?) M.O.D.O.K. costume(s?) Very creative.

  • Mister44

Someday… I am going to get a semi-auto Sterling and make my own ‘working’ Stormtrooper blaster.

And get a flare gun to make Fett’s.
