I said that the sound of loud motorcycles made me fantasise about strangling their riders. That does not equate to advocating that someone do such a thing. I also sometimes fantasise about electrocuting people who blast bassy speakers in the middle of the night -- that doesn't mean I actually think this would be a good idea. One characteristic of adulthood is the capacity to understand that one's atavistic urges are not the basis of a sound policy. I did no such thing.
