Unclewilco sez, "Sheddie Paul Siudowski has created a shed in his garden in Neath, South Wales, UK - where the interior is themed on a 1950's American Diner. Paul is one of the many unique entrants to the Shed of the Year 2011 competition which closes 16th May 2011 and is open to the best sheds in the UK. Previous winners of Shed of the year - have been a shed turned into a Roman Temple, a Hexagional Pub shed, A cabin on stilts and last year a Pirate Shed."

POP'S DINER, GARDEN (Thanks, Unclewilco!)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

that’s some heavy shed. i can totally see the Fonz whacking the jukebox with his elbow to turn it on

    Brits give great shed.

    “Hexagional” ???

  • thatbob

I don’t think diners were chock-a-block with road signage and 50s memorabilia in the 50s. Maybe we should start calling these things “vintage 80s diners,” no?

    (Still, great shed!)

    Irony – how “unAmerican”

Maybe “shed” has a different meaning over there.

I mean, where do you work on your chainsaws/motorcycle/car?

    • Rincewind

That would be the “garage” rather than “shed.”

Thanks Cory the url is busted on Shed of the Year 2011 link in the post..

I never thought we would top the Roman Temple shed in 2007, but each year the British sheddie surprise me with their passion and commitment to the “Humble” garden shed..

I entered the http://www.battleshed.com in that shed of the year contest, but geez, how to compete with a shed/diner hybrid?!?
