“I’m pro-rape as long as I get my cut!” – Donald Trump, total piece of shit

There’s a disgusting smell in here. Has someone trumped?

  3. ArizonaHoss says:

Trump is a businessman, not an idiot. Everything is made in China because the products are cheaper than if they were made here. Until the US starts putting a tariff on goods from China, we won’t be able to compete with their prices. Call the tariff a ‘humanity tariff’ for the way China treats its workers.

  4. OrcOnTheEndOfMyFork says:

Is there really anything to see here?

Anyone in business who can send work to China’s cheap labor force is going to do it. That Trump participates in this off-shoring of manufacturing but then turns around and decries the practice is not necessarily hypocrisy in itself. Even those who would genuinely like to keep manufacturing jobs in the United States find it extremely hard to do against the competition who look for the cheapest labor possible.

Setting policy that would level the playing field (through tariffs, subsidies, etc.) would encourage more work being done locally, especially at a time when rising oil prices makes shipping all the more expensive.

In any case, there’s no question Trump is a hack, and is setting himself up to be the lolPresident who will capture the vote of the disenfranchised (much like Schwarzenegger did as California’s governor). Could be worse. Could be Palin.

“Even those who would genuinely like to keep manufacturing jobs in the United States find it extremely hard to do against the competition who look for the cheapest labor possible.” the only thing they find hard to do is have a back bone.

Yes it is. He’s basically saying “I’d keep these jobs in America if the Federal Government compelled me to do so,” which is diametrically opposed to his “keep the dang gummint outta my bidness” schtick.

By that logic, anyone who runs for government but wants less of it is a hypocrite.

The idea that you want less regulation doesn’t mean you intend to forgo the body of regulation in its entirety. Republicans aren’t proposing no government, they are proposing more efficient government that doesn’t over-regulate and stays out of the way of fair and free market competition.

China plays dirty with their currency, going to great lengths to undervalue it. That’s not fair to American workers. Proposing a policy that counteracts this inequity is not out of the question.

Well, most of them do end up that way, it would seem.

        • Anonymous says:

I can’t believe you just wrote that China is unfair to American workers.

I guess turnabout is fair play. For most of the twentieth century, the opposite was true.

In fact, most crowing about efficiency or automation actually boiled down to: sending jobs to China for pennies on the dollar in labor costs.

        • Daemon says:

When you get down to it, what they are proposing is a government that doesn’t protect 99% of the population from the rapacious greed of the other 1%.

      • turn_self_off says:

Sounds like a euphemism for “give my companies a special dispensation from all kinds of corporate taxes, and allow them to forcibly remove any union members from the workforce”. Or in other words, lets dial the legal system back to the days of the robber barons…

    • penguinchris says:

I get your point, and fully agree that it’s not necessarily hypocrisy to decry outsourcing while practicing it yourself. But it doesn’t apply in Trump’s case.

Trump is not a struggling clothes maker who can’t afford to produce his product in the US even though he would like to. He’s a millionaire who put out a vanity clothing line of really, really ugly stuff. It’s driven by crass consumerism and Trump’s desire for publicity.

If he truly cared about outsourcing to China, he simply wouldn’t have started his clothing line. He knows damn well that he wouldn’t be able to sell anything if he made it in the US, because it’d be ugly *and* overpriced (you can generally only get away with one of those two things). There was never any question that his clothing line would be made in China or the like. So yes, it is hypocrisy.

Companies like American Apparel have shown that it’s perfectly feasable to do manufacturing in the USA. There’s no reason that Trump couldn’t do so on suits which must have a better profit margin than t-shirts. This is NOT required.

    • aldasin says:

“Anyone in business who can send work to China’s cheap labor force is going to do it.”

Except that’s not true. I buy a lot of clothing that is made in the USA (not American Apparel), and yes, it costs more and the quality is far beyond the chinese crap at most retail stores.
Isn’t a big-shot who wants to be like Trump the perfect demographic for American made quality, and can’t that person afford it? I can assure you I make less than a 100,000 a year.
But that’s not who his suits are for are they?
Trump makes cheap-ass shit to peddle to the wannabes, the little limp dicks who will never make it out of middle management with ARM mortgages and Hummers.

All of this nonsense from a hot air balloon. Or do I mean a buffoon. He has no idea of which he speaks. If he did he would know enough that his language first should be curbed above the gutter talk he was spouting out. It was offensive and embarrassing to hear sitting while in the presence of my Grandmother. She was not raised in the generation where those terms were used as freely and acceptable as we, unfortunately, do.

Also, I am not sure, but if we are to over step our bounds and they decide to call in some financial chips that we are indebted to them or even if they stop trade alone, would that not lead to a financial problem in this country? Hello? Our finances are not in order Mr. Trump. And why would we want to put you up front…didn’t you have a small bout with bankruptcy yourself?

We can spew out all the stupidity we want Mr. Trump but please do not do it and claim you want to be our President. We have had too many jack-a*** already and we deserve a fighting chance in our next election.

  7. Antinous / Moderator says:

Now we can add “successfully competing with” as a synonym for rape, somewhere between “annoying me” and “spoiling my appetite.”

  8. GreenJello says:

First rule of dealing with trolls (of which Trump is definitely one) is?

  9. radixe says:

Oh come on!! Stop feeding the damn troll! Probably even his stupid hair is made in china!

  10. peterbruells says:

It’s not rape if you give consent, or is it?

    • iheartbeijing says:

lol, I was going to say the same thing…

or maybe Trump should have referred to the fact that America is paying China to “rape” it, so maybe its all just a really complicated role playing game gone awry?

      (whats the safe word?!)

  11. MacBookHeir says:

Mark, knocking a public figure for being a hypocrite is like shooting defenseless fish in a barrel. Acknowledging Trump as a man to be reckoned with is off-base and a bit silly. Besides, his clothing line isn’t that bad – it consists mostly of bland (not “hideously ugly”) business suits. His wife Ivanka does put out a great line of women’s shoes and handbags. Trump will soon disappear under the Trump Tower he crawled out from. Best to ignore him, yes? – PS – most of the clothing in the world is manufactured in China or Bangladesh.

    • Kaden says:

      “Best to ignore him, yes?”

No. That level of disengagement is what let middle-aged white guys in suits fuck up your country in the first place.

      • Snig says:

Agree. Reagan and the Bush’s were similarly laughable fools until they got way much further than they should have.

      • Sekino says:

Not necessarily. These loud middle-age white suits are getting all the attention to the detriment of smarter, more valuable but less bombastic people. How about giving more air time to the ones who have something to offer beside shock-value entertainment? How could THAT hurt? We’ve never even tried.

Yes, there will always be a lot of people who are only interested in the next pop celebrity’s antics and sleazy, noisy public figures, but I have no sensible reason to believe that they are the majority. Enough already with the Trumps, Becks and Palins! Place the spotlight on good sense and intelligence for a bloody change. These goons fuck up your country because everybody, critics and sycophants alike, are tripping over themselves to give them a voice above everyone else’s.

the point is that he is a hypocrite.

  12. Brainspore says:

It’s not “rape” if you’re a consenting partner, Mr. Trump. If there’s a sex crime metaphor to be made here, then China is the one cruising the red light district and we’re the one in the push-up bra and stilettos waving them over to the street corner.

  13. Dave Ng says:

    That looks photoshopped. Just saying…

  14. Anonymous says:

Just when you think it can’t get much worse, a ton of shit hits the fan.
Will we ever have “people in power” that will save the United states? I doubt it.

  15. seyo says:

I just left this comment on Trump’s website feedback form:

“Mr. Trump – so, your “signature collection” is made in China. how very interesting, you hypocritical piece of garbage! Why don’t you show us your tax returns as you said you would? Is it because you are a coward and a liar? Please, do us all a favor and stick to running casinos into the ground and making bad television, and stop polluting our already toxic national political discourse with your idiocy.”

Rape? Uh Trump and his lot have exported these jobs. Why is he whining now?

If anyone is raping America it is the top 0.01% who hoard all their wealth, influence and corrupt govt and poison the population with their own propaganda and think tanks, while outsourcing all labor because it is cheaper right?

if we didn’t buy products made elsewhere, we would not have the problem of lost jobs. naive? well, before the products we want were made overseas, they were made here. don’t like dictator-in-waiting hugo chavez? why do you buy his gas at 7-eleven? we want the cheapest prices we can get. so do union members. don’t believe me? check out what your favorite union member drives, and where her tv, dvr, etc., are made. yes, even the clothes on her back.
so buy american when you can, or lose more jobs.
