In the first episode of Boing Boing's Gweek podcast, Rob and I discuss Portal 2 (and why 7 hours of playtime is worth $50). We also look at some upcoming graphic novels and books. We interview Ernest Cline, author of the incredible upcoming science fiction book Ready Player One. We end with recommendations of some of our favorite adventure games for mobile platforms.

The technology that links taxonomy and Star Trek

I may give it a try, but I have to comment: somehow I feel podcasts take more time than reading. Maybe I’m a speed reader or something

  • jackruby1123

Yay! I have been wondering why you guys didn’t have a podcast for a while now. I haven’t even listened yet but I wanted to tell you good luck. I see good things in the future for BoingBoing. You guys are on a roll!

    • devophill

They’ve had a few podcasts, but I don’t think any have gotten past episode 2 or 3.

      • Mark Frauenfelder

We did about 12 or 13 episodes of Get Illuminated, but I lost a lot of them when Odeo deleted everything.

        • devophill

Ah! I forgot about that one.

  • osmo

    Error 404 and not found… I don’t have / don’t want Itunes… any chance of downloadable MP3´s?

    • dculberson

There’s a link, labeled “Play Gweek 001,” at the bottom of the block quoted area. That takes you straight to an MP3 of the podcast.

      • osmo

I did press it but nothing… oh NOW it works… ok never mind :)

  • Tony Moore

Anything i could do for you guys would be my pleasure and honor!

hey guys…I have a webcomic I’d like to get more people to know about called The Portland Express. What do I need to do to get you to hollar about it outside the realm of letting you win at Monopoly?

  • Agies

You don’t need iTunes to get the podcast, any “podcatcher” will do. Heck you should be able to view the RSS in just about any browser and manually download.

Portal 2 section has some spoilers…

But am excited for this podcast!

  • fhamilton

Awesome! I can’t wait to get to get home to download it. Best of luck.

  • monitorhead

nice graphic! i seem to always be paralleling what’s being done.

back in 2002, when I started doing 3 color designs, my boss says “wow. that’s some cool work. It looks like shepherd fairey’s.” to which i respond “who?” LOL:

  • The Graphic Avenger

What’s the name of that funky theme tune?

    • Mark Frauenfelder

The theme song is something I slapped together using the cool $5 Garageband app for the ipad.

      • The Graphic Avenger

        Thanks for the tune!

    Nice design on the gwaffic!

Thank you so much for doing this! I love Podcasts and I love BB, please continue! :-)

Bloo – When I listen to podcasts I use the iPod/Phone’s 2X button and listen to them in half the time. It can take a little getting used to, but after you’ve done it a while it will sound weird when you listen to them at normal speed.

  • Tony Moore

I’m excited to listen to this. Best of luck, fellas!

Thanks, Tony! We’d love to have you on as a guest.

Was the graphic intended to invoke the Penguin Classic Covers?
