“without a steady decline most bands fall into”? Uthor, I hope you’re trying to be funny. New Order’s been in decline since 1989.

Too bad… Age of Consent is one of my “happy songs”… I put it on when I was getting dressed this morning.

I’m a longtime fan, but my favorite NO album is Get Ready. Also, Joy Divison’s version of Love Will Tear Us Apart pales in comparison to the acoustic Swans cover, which was then covered by Bernard Sumner. You can find both on Youtube.

Shame, but I got to see them live once (for too much money) and their last album wasn’t so good. Better them go out with all the great music behind them and without a steady decline most bands fall into.

It’s a sad story, but just more of the same ugly bitterness that’s been playing out over the past few years. I love New Order, but I gave up expecting anything productive from them years ago.

And so, this makes the fifth compilation album from New Order in the past ten years. I suppose that’s how it’s going to be then: a new Best Of album selling the same old songs, every other year from now until the end of time.

I guess I should be grateful that this new compilation has one new track on it.
