Elvis has robbed several betting shops around England in recent weeks. The King has been caught on CCTV camera wielding what police say is a fake handgun. They're also claiming that the robber is just some guy wearing an Elvis disguise, but we know the truth. 'Elvis' suspect raid links in Brighton and Eastbourne (BBC News)

  1. So even the gun is a fake? This is so sad. Guess it also shows what happens when the economy turns south, even all those millions he ran off with run out, probably shouldn’t have spent it all on those houses….

    Just look for him somewhere Down By The Riverside. Or perhaps he’s hiding In The Ghetto. After all, how hard can it be to locate a Hunk Of Burnin’ Love wearing Blue Suede Shoes?

    I would at least hope that when they hand him the cash he says “Thank yuh, Thank yuh very much…”

    And this also occurs to me: I was alive during some of Elvis Presley’s life, and it pains me a little to consider that “Elvis” might be tantamount to “fake” to some people. Many people under 40 or so have probably seen only Elvis impersonators, or video of the later sideburns/tinted glasses/rhinestone jumpsuit Elvis, and think the definition of Elvis is n. artificial, fake, imitation.

    That’d be one explanation for the fake sideburns and fake gun used by the gentleman here. And those are totally D.B. Cooper/Unabomber sunglasses; they’re not even proper Elvis impersonator shades.

  11. Trouble with knocking over bookies is that sooner or later the firm will catch up and swap those blue suede’s with a pair of the readymix variety.
