Screen Shot 2011-09-15 At 10.09.24 Am From the Los Angeles Police Protective League email newsletter: "A man dressed as SpongeBob SquarePants was detained by police outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, officials said Wednesday. The man was questioned but not arrested Tuesday in what a Los Angeles Police Department official described as a 'brief incident with two females.' No other details were available. The incident was the latest run-in between characters who pose for pictures with tourists and then aggressively demand money, according to police."

Probably related to this lovely video of SpongeBob fighting two women.   Please don’t ask how I found that.

    • ComradeQuestions

The best part of this is how this was clearly just filmed off the TMZ website and then posted on YouTube.  Sounds like someone doesn’t want TMZ getting pageviews.

  • lknope

Quick, someone give those women a clipboard!

  • Brainspore

Odd… “aggressively demanding money” seems like more of a Mr. Krabs thing.

We’ve read about chugging this week. What’s this called?

  • Guest

Sounds like he had a run in with a couple’a Crabby Patty’s.

I noticed this (“aggressively demanding money”) happening more and more the last couple times I’ve been to Venice Beach.  People will set out a beach chair and then act like you owe them something if you happen to do nothing other than stop and listen to what they have to say.  Not everyone at Venice has become this way but it isn’t what it used to be.  Unfortunate.

I was always more concerned that Squidward was more likely to be a perv with all those extra appendages, but who am I to say?

    What?  Not a “gentleman”?

Hmm.  Well, strictly speaking, I suppose not.

I’m sure when the NRA candidate wins in 2012, this kind of annoying street crime will drop precipitously.
