    Yes, and also the whole thing should be in italics- Eacles imperialis .  That’s just how the scientists roll.

    Soapbox- the human scientific name, Homo sapiens, is not a plural.  You should never remove the “s” and talk about a Homo sapien – it just doesn’t make any sense.

    Correct- “Just look at that Pan troglodytes smoking a cigarette!  Ha!  He must think he’s a Homo sapiens!!”

    Incorrect: “Just look at that Pan troglodyte smoking a cigarette!  Ha!  He must think he’s a Homo sapien!!”
