I’m once again rocking the SE w810i http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_W810 from 2006!
Its a wonderful phone, picks up a usable signal where my co-workers smartphones can’t.
Takes decent pictures, has the cybershot software (i think this was the last phone of theirs to have it) and has auto-focus with a flash.
FM tuner, walkman audio player software.
The only con is the proprietary power connection… oh, and that damn memory stick.
This is the only SE device i’ve ever owned, but as long as they keep up the quality that this brick has I think they’ll do just fine :)
Sure, but Sony sees itself as a competitor to Apple and Nokia, not Kyocera or Ingersoll-Rand or whoever currently makes $25 contract-free bricks for Kmart.
or Circuit City :P
my SE 518a is flimsy and hard to use, but was free with a plan (only if purchasedrequested from radio shack) but at least is feature-rich, in spite of being heavily locked-down in terms of the camera, mp3 ringtones, and other features i don’t use much to begin with. theres some old samsung phone i want, its the only phone ive ever seen that i actually wanted but its 2 yrs old and almost impossible to get with a plan and like most non-iphones has some nondescript name i can never remember
But they have the PSP! The future of mobile gaming isn’t in 99-cent downloadable smartphone games, it’s in $40 cartridges that only play on a single, expensive proprietary device! Where’s everyone going?
Knowing Sony, their new phones will only play music on Mini Discs, and the camera will only save to a MemoryStick.
