The Snowden Principle

Now you guys are totally getting it.

  • sagodjur

This is a little more understated, but as equal a justopositioning of music and video as the ending of Dr. Strangelove with the mushroom clouds and “We’ll Meet Again,” or maybe the intro sequences to the Fallout games.

      Or the Metropolis anime: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsZBX2RhDZE

    plant a flag, that’s a whooping

Oh well. They broke the law.

    • Phoenix Lomax

Yeah, it is pretty illegal for the cops to kick and beat people they’re arresting. Very astute of you.

  • liquidstar

So now we need to ssseeee some Occupy Miami accompanied by Drugstore Cowboy.

Nice to see I’m not too jaded to be taken aback by some over-the-top cynicism every once in awhile. Yes, I laughed at it, but I swear I didn’t inhale. I thought somebody was handing me a Wheezy Waiter video.

Completely random and off-topic, but I wish somebody would start a facebook campaign to make Diamonds in the Mine by Leonard Cohen this year’s Christmas number one.  That would really scare the shit into the 1%.

    • sagodjur

I think Everybody Knows is an appropriate anthem for OWS. “Everybody knows the fight was fixed, the poor stay poor, the rich get rich, that’s how it goes, everybody knows.”

      • http://2012diaries.blogspot.com/ tristan eldritch

Agreed.  I just like the idea of a song as balefully bitter as Diamonds being number 1 for the Saccharine Season!

  • the_engineer

Awesome video, just shared it. I really wish BB links flowed better into my G+ stream… Just saying.

     JA!  I just did that!

  • dentarthurdent

Unfortunately, this video is not available in Germany because it contains music for which GEMA has not granted the respective rights.

I guess fair use doesn’t exist here. I see this all the time.

  • Ivan R.

The ending is very dramatic. I like it. And off course there’s the ‘Flags of our fathers’ motif there as well. Flags of our fathers meets a monkey from Odyssey 2001…

  • donovan acree

Note to self: NYPD hates the flag.

I’ve never seen someone get so riled up at the placement of the American flag. Would this be akin to the soldier pulling the trigger after a flower is placed in its barrel?
