As she does every year, Danielle Spencer hosted a "Turkey-shaped Jell-O® mold competition" in New York City a few days ago. And as it happens every year, the entries are awesome.

Above, Cassandra C. Jones' "Homemade Hostess Holiday," First Place Grand Prize Trophy Winner [by popular election] for "Best Overall Turkey." Wow, it's Cassandra's second year in a row as champion!

Artist's Statement: "Art to me is a humanitarian cupcake and I believe that there is a responsibility that art should somehow be able to nourish mankind, to make the world a sweeter place."

More entries here, including a couple from Boing Boing pal and living legend David Byrne. And, this below: "Turkey Madoff, by Kate, Beatrice, Scott & Annabelle."
