I bet you can buy shelves just like this from that well known swedish furniture store. Think the post should have centered around the lego collection.

LEGOs, ukuleles, steampunk… some things just have a much lower attractive/creative bar to cross before they get the Boing Boing nod.

At first glance I thought that the author had used cheap wooden yardsticks to construct the shelves, and at second glance I thought that she and her boyfriend had found a source for old-fashioned wooden lath strips.

Then I saw that they were ripping strips from a sheet of lauan, which I’ve done myself for similar small projects, and found it to be not entirely suitable.

These exist in purchasable form as “slotted display cases”. They can be as expensive or as cheap as you’d like.

Not a very attractive or creative solution, and it really has nothing to do with Legos other than someone put Legos on it. So basically, this should be called, “Shelves: You can build them.”If I make a “Nintendo Display Case” by putting my Nintendo on a table, will you publicize it for me? I mean, you do like Nintendo, don’t you? …and I’ve mentioned Nintendo so my table is cool, right?

Why not make the display case itself out of Lego? Now, that would be cool.
