There's never been a better time to donate to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the leading organization fighting to keep the world's Internet free and open. Never a better time because there's never been more threats facing the free Internet, from SOPA to illegal domain seizures to warrantless shutdown of Wikileaks.

And never a better time because, right now, every dollar you give to EFF will be matched three to one by Blake Krikorian and by the Brin Wojcicki Foundation.

Today's the day to power up your donation and quadruple your generosity.

Power Up Your Donation | Electronic Frontier Foundation

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

The Snowden Principle

  • Jason’s Robot

Yikes.  I almost just donated but saw it says “Starting at 6:30am today”
I’ll go ahead and wait a few hours.  Whew.

  • Cowicide

This is very good news.  We need the EFF more than ever right now.

  • Seto

Actually, the website says that it’s FOUR to one. This is indeed great!

  • Chris Heady

As far as I can tell, at least 2 of the matches go to the building fund, not directly for efforts to save our freedoms. I still donated because I love the EFF. But I thought people might want to know. I am also a little confused as it looks like the original donation also has to go to the building fund to be matched by the Brin Wojcicki fund based on what I read.

Does anyone know why EFF needs a building in expensive San Francisco? Are they headquartered there already or something?

    • MB44

I believe their headquarters is there yes. My take on it is that if they need a new building, they are gathering funds and momentum and that is a good thing.

Evidently one may only give beginning at $25.00 (from which the jump is made to $65!). Unfortunately, I just do not have an extra $25, though I had planned to donate what I had left in my paypal balance: 21.33. Maybe EFF could adjust their form to allow for those of us who would like to give what we can, but just do not have the means to give at their beginning level.
