HA! That reminds me of many a dinner with one (or both) of my parents dropping a non sequitur bomb. Boring conversation derailed into conversations where we wouldn’t leave the table for hours. It was definitely a litmus test for new girlfriends to see how they reacted to one (usually jumping right in, or I wouldn’t have been dating them in the first place).
