Via Reddit, where one commenter says, "Those pesky gays, ruining the family structure what with all the genuine, unconditional love and affection they shower on their kids/grandkids." (thanks, Sara!)

Thank you for sharing this, Xeni.  It really brightened my day! :D

Those are just human scream yawns.

Thanks Xeni. This made us smile!

The fact that this is a thing shows us how far we have yet to go.

    • awjt

Exactery.  Gay people have feelings?  Holy shit.

  • slagmacg

The happy grandpa’s are obviously a threat to my marriage.

    • Brainspore

Mine too, because we’re one of those alien races you see on “Star Trek” that feed on negative emotions.

  • tmccartney66

SUCKERS!  It’s obvious to anyone with a brain that they can’t wait to turn that baby gay.

    • drongo

Of course! Just like they turned their own child gay… ;-)

      • oasisob1

They turned me a little gay just watching the video. I need to go to church now…

  • tongpu12

You don’t need to be in a pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can offer true and genuine love to their families but our kids can’t openly celebrate Santamas or pray in schools. Love these types of vids! Thanks for sharing…

  • Timothy Krause

Now that’s an Annunciation I can believe in. So lovely!

  • Tess

How lovely.  I want to hug all of them.  :)

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OAUXAA362EXWLYVMPJOKLFB5JQ Incipient Madness

But you can’t hug every mom-to-be daughter of gay dads, the gay dads, and the father of said child. It’s the same as how you can’t hug every cat.

      • Tess

True, just all the ones I meet who want to be hugged.  :)

I really just meant those specific people, anyway.  So much joy!

  • Jamie Adam

Aww! That’s so nice! Congratulations to the happy family!!

  • Boomer

Their joy is palpable.  This is wonderful.

If you’re straight, read the sex scene  in Smilla’s Sense of Snow, she’s definitely not “a bottom” or “the wife”.

      • http://imcravingpresidency.tumblr.com/ SedanChair

I was thinking more “Kirk and Spock” than “husband and wife”

        • millie fink

Um . . . who the hell cares?

          • Antinous / Moderator

            Uhura.

        • retepslluerb

Yeah. I *hated* the parts where Spock jumped up and down and shrieked like a little girl.  Made my ears hurt.

    • Guest

self-removed do to point already made by other – and I can’t figure how to delete my comment so I just edited it to say this instead of that.

  • gus mueller

they might be happy, but can you imagine how pissed Christ Jesus is?

    • http://twitter.com/Dree10K1 Dree

Yeah, He is chucking beer cans at the television as we speak.

  • BookGuy

This is just wrong!  Every child needs two grandmas and two grandpas, not four grandpas, or three grandpas and one grandma, or three grandmas and….wait, not two grandmas together and two grandpas together!  That’s not what I meant!  I meant mixed up the right way!  Muuuhhhh!  Love doesn’t work if it’s not matched up right!  Family destroyed with gay grandparent combinatorics!

    • http://twitter.com/Dree10K1 Dree

This is actually the most coherent argument against gay marriage that I’ve heard yet.

    • rattypilgrim

It’s hard to figure out exactly what you’re saying. That said your two grandma, two grandpa paradigm hardly equates when  straight father abandons family.   Love does work between those who love. Grow up. Oh, by the way, what happens to children whose grandparents died before they were born? Take some time, relax, and think about it.

      • Antinous / Moderator

Plug your sarcasm meter back in, please.

      • BookGuy

I thought the phrase “gay grandparent combinatorics,” or at least the “Muuuhhhh!” would be the give away for my parody comment.  Alas, apparently not.

        • legotech

“Gay Grandparent Combinatorics” sounds like an episode of Big Bang Theory

          • Mark Dow

The fact that “Gay Grandparent Combinatorics” is a thing shows us how far discrete mathematics has yet to go.

  • Brian Bara

I’ve seen this video three times now, and it still makes me cry.

  • Bob N Johnson

The title to this post should just say

Couple Finds Out They Are Going To Be Grandparents

    • nixiebunny

Yup, we’re working on that. One pair of grandpas at a time.

    • flosofl

Yes, it should, but the fact it doesn’t is kind of the point.

    • Tess

Nope, it totally shouldn’t.  We should live in a world where that would be the right title, but we don’t.  For now, same-sex couples are treated very differently than opposite-sex couples.

I wish it could stop mattering (oh, how I wish) but so far it still does.

    • benher

Ideally, yes. The reason that it is still being overtly stated is because the US has a long way to go towards accepting gays… if we could write the title like that and it were considered acceptable, it probably wouldn’t even make it to the front page of a news aggregator.

    • Guest

bobbin johnson? That is a great porn or troll name.

      • Bob N Johnson

        Thanks MDH

  • Bob N Johnson

For me, the bit that puts this on the front page is the scream that starts around 00:21 and pretty much continues for the remainder of the clip.

  • CH

Awwww! That was the sweetest thing ever!

I loved how the father-to-be announced it. :) You could see the cogwheels turning in the head of the grandpas’… and then the explosion of absolute joy when they finally realized that yes, they had heard it right.

  • travtastic

But what if they… make me happy, like them?

  • http://twitter.com/perizade Perizade

Aw! I wish one set of my grandparents had been this supportive when they found out I was pregnant.

  • Philbert

I so remember this moment as my wife told my parents in law. She took out the positive predictor test and put it on the table. My sister in law immediately started cheering, my father in law was like ‘What? What is the matter with that pen?’ and my mother in law was standing there carrying a big plate of meatballs and started swaying, she had to be steadied…

  • agreenster

“Gay-  a) happily excited : merry  b) keenly alive and exuberant : having or inducing high spirits”Super gay video! :)

  • brerrabbit23

    Man, that was good.

Also, I miss watching the Price is Right.

  • SamSam

I dunno. The whole thing seems a little gay to me.

  • Keith Anselm

I am pleased for the grandfathers to be. But who says “We’re pregnant”?

Pedant mode aside, the world needs more familial excitement.
