Martian watches

CDR sez, "Watches that keep Martian time. Originally for a Mars Mission, now for anyone who needs something useless yet infinitely desirable."

Mars Watches

  1. I always thought that Martian timekeepers would want to wear my Nixie watch, as the open-source firmware can be hacked to make Martian time.  I ought to drive over to the building where they keep track of the Martian missions and ask them.

  2. You don’t need a special watch.

I would, however, love to get a fully programmable clock for the iPhone or, at the very least, a Mars clock.

  3. What a perfect, inspirational gift for a child just starting to dream of becoming an astronaut, and being on the first manned mission to Mars.

Unfortunately, my youngest niece only wants to be a neuroscientist. Sigh.

  4. I’ve always wondered how Martians would deal with the extra 37 minutes. Add a short hour? You can’t redefine what an hour is (and by extension minutes and seconds) cause then you screw up metric standards.
