    That’s wack.

  2. I was at a drag show when the news broke. There really couldn’t have been a more appropriate setting to find that out.

Addictions make no exception for fame and fortune when they kill.
Sad for all the family still here who love her.

This is really sad. She was such a great talent whose life was destroyed by demons & drugs. Horrible loss for all. I can barely believe she’s just 22 years old when she sang this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXFliKZruXE

    What a great voice.

What the hell kinda drugs was she doing that could kill you at 48? She was my age.

    • Øyvind says:

Most drugs can kill you at any age, as long as you do enough of them or mix them the wrong way. People have OD’d a lot younger than 48.
As for Whitney, a very talented musician, but maybe not so good when it came to other choices and decisions.

People in their 30s, even their 20s, die of cirrhosis.  It’s not at all rare.

A high-functioning professional of my acquaintance whose drive and work ethic I always used to envy dropped dead at 40 while jogging.  Turned out the drive came from a rather large cocaine habit.

Very sad. I’ve not heard reports of any autopsy yet, however. Speculation always seems inappropriate in these circumstances as with Amy Winehouse. Whatever, she escaped club 27.

  9. Mister44 says:

Cocaine is a hell of a drug. It’s really sad as she had a ton of talent.

  10. Kommkast says:

She looked like hell last night.. had blood on her legs and everything.. surprised she didn’t go to the hospital.. Sad to see such a talented singer pass at such a young age..

Although we knew it was coming, it’s still a kick in the gut.

    Such a waste of talent.

  12. Chicago_SC says:

    Really, is anyone that surprised?

Mr. Brown it is my opinion that you put her on this path; prerogative or not the guilt is yours.

  13. Bobsyeruncle says:

Uh, so she was in trouble at 4:20 (MST)?
