…and our countdown continues with more Clowes oddities that couldn’t be included in the book.

Museum Bound

The exhibition Modern Cartoonist: The Art of Daniel Clowes displays original drawings in an installation environment. This first major survey of the artist’s work accompanies the publication of the extensive full-color monograph. The exhibition, which opens April 14 and runs through August 12, 2012 at OMCA in Oakland, CA, is organized by guest curator Susan Miller and Senior Curator of Art René de Guzman, with design by Nicholas de Monchaux. The exhibition will travel to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL, The Cocoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC and the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus Ohio.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the many background drawings that Clowes has created for the installation environment:

We’ve also included a test sample of animation that Nicholas de Monchaux is working on for the exhibition:

So, how does one enter the contest? Is it now closed (Writing April 1 at 11:23 EST)?

Today is the last day. For the contest. I was late posting this one, so we’ll give away two books today to make up for the difference.
