That doesn't look like mink to me, but I suppose they couldn't really have called it Blood on the Beaver.

This reminds me of the novel that Harris was perpetually writing in Barney Miller: "Blood on the Badge"

I read Ray Bradbury's three detective/mystery novels and I enjoyed them. I may have to give Silverberg a try, once I read some of his SF works.

Blood On The Mink sounds like an entirely different potboiler thriller.

FURY! ...flashed in the eyes of the crazed protestor!
TERROR! ...struck the heart of the stole-wearing socialite!
CHAOS!... ensued as the guests at the charity ball found themselves drenched in red!

WAS IT PAINT?
WOULD IT COME OUT?

or was it

BLOOD ON THE MINK
the exciting new thriller by Robert Silverberg
59¢ paperback from Red Circle Press

Maybe it's the people I hang with or I'm simply not paying attention, but Robert Silverberg never quite seems to get the attention he deserves. I have a bookshelf full of his works, and as much as I like nearly everything he's written, I think maybe it's the lack of one killer, signature effort (like a 2001 from Clarke or some equally known Asimov yarn) that keeps him a bit below the radar. Hardly any material's been taken off the page and made it onto the little/big screen, either.
