Yes, profinity, having an idea is way harder than architecting and coding a mobile app (walled gardens have their perks), designing and deploying the web services that keep it alive (if any, and they aren’t built in), generating artwork and sound effects (if any), then submitting it to the appropriate marketplaces (just a few clicks these days) and promoting the app so that it gets any attention. That stuff is either easy, or common to any business venture. Coming up with a good idea is hard.

Any stupid idea will make money in the App store. My apps are pretty dumb (albeit crafted with loving care) but sell enough that I’m going to quit my day job and just go for it full time. I’ve paid for all my Apple hardware with app sales! It’s a self-sustaining hobby.

And you know what? One of my new app ideas is indeed about poop. And it will sell. Just watch me.

Just because the apple god says you don’t need flash doesn’t make it so.

Considering that more than 50% of smartphones are now running Android the only irony I see is that the “premium & superior” device is missing features.

There’s this big group of iPhone and Android developers who have spent hundreds of hours learning to code, spent thousands of dollars on developer program fees, developer conferences, programming books, hardware to run and test their code, etc. And all we need to get rich is someone’s idea about poop, or ‘who’s your daddy?.’

13 out of 15. Pretty easy if you have basic knowledge of what the app store will accept. Hint – if it implies there’s trademarked / copyrighted material used without clear permission, chances are its not a real app. Pretty much anything else (except nudity, flash, and certain coding methods) is fair game and can / has been done.
