catz rulez – we lost our kitty of 23 years early this year, and recently adopted 3 siblings who were found scared in a parking lot. they’re growing up to be upstanding citizens. this is such a cute, lazy kitty photo. keep them coming!

@boingboing-1712e6f8ced4e29366fab3efe5e1d966:disqus  On this Mother’s Day I am saying yeah for you for loving three little scaredy cats. And RIP to kitty.

thank you. our new roommates are delightful, though one keeps marking blankets in the house! every day we tell our kittys how lucky they are that we rescued them. they’re happy cats and that’s what matters most

I live in a high rise public housing apt building in downtown Austin next to a creek and the river (odd story there) and there is a dowt of ferals around. One of the young ones decided to adopt me a while back and he grew into a fine (if smallish) male. Then he disappeared. I gave up on him after a couple of weeks. But last week after over 2 months gone, he reappears, but so diminished that I didn’t even recognize him at first. Have no idea what happened to him. Unfortunately, I must keep up the fiction that he is feral (which, to a large extent he still is) because I can’t afford the $50 pet deposit. Still, he is back. Traumatized for sure, but back :)

What is a “pet deposit” ?

      • oasisob1

Paid to the landlord in case the animal damages the residence. That’s a pretty cheap one, I’ve paid $500 deposits. When you leave, you get it back, maybe.

Or alternatively, a deposit that your pet leaves in your shoe when you’ve done something offensive.

I’ve come back to look at this picture at least five times today, because it’s just so relaxing.

This is such a terrific picture that I just set it as my desktop background.  :-)

    Happy Mother’s Day, indeed!
