		<description>I haven&#039;t heard Funk You Up since the Eighth Grade dance.  I had no idea it was part of hip-hop, as at that time I had no concept that there was such a genre.  I suppose at the time I must have thought of it as a stripped down and edgy form of disco. I suppose that was an accurate assessment. The earliest hip-hop still sounds pretty close to its disco roots. 

BTW,  Cracked has and article in which they say the &quot;chicken verse&quot; from Rapper&#039;s Delight is among the worst of hip-hop lyrics. I could not disagree more. </description>
