Karswell picked up this 1966 Remco product at a toy show last year and has lots of photos.

Pussy Meow is the loveable kitty friend to a poodle named TV Jones, and each stand about 9-inches tall with movable legs and rooted hair. They also feature "magic buttons" on their chests that when pushed make their heads slightly turn.

Hackers prepare for first "national holiday" in their honor

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/Freethinkersanon Christopher

That looks suspiciously like a My Little Pony that got punched in the face.

    • pupdog

Punched so hard it got sent back in time!

  • Rich Keller

That looks like something that would figure prominently in a Mark Ryden exhibit. Just add Abraham Lincoln’s head floating nearby and some steaks hanging from hooks.

    Whoa . . . . there’s a unnerving inflatable-love-doll vibe to Pussy Meow.

I suspect she was meant be be dressed in that yellow garment tucked in the back of the box.  Although I’m not sure if being decked out in a yellow raincoat and shiny red boots would help.

TV Jones provided the name of an early-70s Australian band: http://www.moistworks.com/2005/06/brian_24.html

  • Grey Eyed Man of Destiny

    Dicks for legs.

    (someone had to say it)

    • CvilleJohn1234

Also could be a good name for a band!

      beat me to it.

  • Shibi_SF

That actually looks like some sort of cat-horse-penis hybrid that works in those sexy-sex windows… where you can stroll up and check out the goods before buying.

(New password phrase to try:  “cat horse penis sexy sex” <– SO much less hackable than "correct horse battery staple")

Wouldn’t it be cool if the writers of Mad Men worked this toy into a script? Like, not-so-little Sally Draper receives TV Jones and several accessories for Christmas, screams that she isn’t a kid any more, and catches a bus to San Francisco?

  • Culturedropout

Gah!  I’m going to have nightmares about this thing…

  • voiceinthedistance

Something looks to be inflamed on the end of those, um, body parts.  From the look on her face, I think she sleeps around, too.

  • pjcamp

    Is it inflatable?

Well, that’s another night’s sleep lost forever.

  • Laurent Dubois

This is disturbing… these “legs” are really looking phallic… I don’t know much about the 60′s but I would not give this to a kid.
