Our pal Joel Johnson of Animal New York snapped this photo of fellow staffer Jane-Claire Quigley wearing a 20-year-old bOING bOING T-shirt, lovingly "hung together with safety pins and shit" (as Joel put it). I'm wondering where the hell she got it.

       PLEASE.

  • http://twitter.com/notjaneclaire Jane-Claire Quigley

I got it from my brother in 1992!

    • Jonathan Roberts

…which was twenty years ago. Thanks for reminding me.

(@emerose will never let me live this down.)

That’s my shirt! (I’d been looking for it.)  I probably got it in 1991-2 and wore it for ages before it went missing.  Now I know what happened.

This one comment just cranked up the Awesome on this thread.

Fantastic, sibling rivalry for the win!  :)

      • awjt

I’m totally jealous.  I wanna tell my sister to shut up on BoingBoing, but she’s too young to be here.  I’ll just have to bide my time.

    Please re-issue.

argh…sorry for multiple posts. BUT PLEASE RE-ISSUE!

  • Senor Schaffer

Do the right thing. I’ve been reading bOINGbOING since the beginning of the century. Make more of those shirts….or I walk.

    *hopes nobody calls his bluff*

    • awjt

You can walk… to the next article and make another comment there too!!!  :)

  • Mark_Frauenfelder

I have about 5 left in a box. Maybe we’ll hold a giveaway!

    • Senor Schaffer

A book report on “Made by Hand”?

      I got this.

      • voiceinthedistance

I see you the book report, and raise you a well know author’s banana motif onesie.  You should just look at it!

Looks like it’s due for a reprint.

  • David Pescovitz

From that same era of bOING BOING and in a similar style is the even rarer Modem Grrl t-shirt! (Mark, I think I spotted one or two in that same box.)

    • penguinchris

Is there an image of that one anywhere? I like this one and would probably buy a reprint (or attempt to win one from the box) but “Modem Grrl” sounds awesome…

  • onereader

Was she even born when that t-shirt was printed?

  • miasm

I want one so badly I don’t deserve it.
We should have a poll and elect kewl, famous people who might wear the shirts at public events.

  • c____c

Awesome – it’s so damn weird. I’m flubbing an SVG. Would also buy a shirt if available..

  • acidrain69

My uncle has a Super Chicken TShirt from the beginning of time. True story.

  • ian

Looks like someone got stabbed in it!

  • Luke Miner

This is from emerose. I remember that shirt… From high school. Held together with a safety pin? Way to take care of fine garments Sam.

This reminds me. In the late 80s I ordered a t-shirt from The Robin Byrd Show and it still hasn’t arrived.

  • jeligula

    Damn, she’s cute.

I saw one of these in 1994 or ’95 and was a little jealous.  So *that’s* where the shirt came from!
