2. Not just the pot law, but racial profiling. Two problems, both of which aren’t being solved fast enough to prevent, as Mr. Toure states, the young black male from being “sucked into the justice system and forever branded a criminal.” Couldn’t agree more.

To me it’s identical. You are attempting to claim a kind of empowerment by saying they are making themselves the victim.
If you found the rape analogy insulting, what will think of this: Slaves that talked back to their masters, they deserved that whipping.

Have you considered that many of these stop and frisk marijuana busts are plants by police in order to get someone they don’t like off the streets?
It’s the law causing harm here – not the ‘suspect’. Rather than stopping harmless the activity why don’t we focus on fixing the harmful law?

It’s better than your solution which is Don’t bow to oppression. Easy for you to say, it isn’t YOU going to jail. Nice of you to sacrifice their lives for your high philosophical standards. This is not an either/or situation. Take your time, change the pot law, work on changing profiling – but in the meantime black arrests for possession is a real crisis. Cache the stash.
