Shoe goo is probably your best option. But don't expect it to hold up against any significant stress, as it's not designed for patching tears in thin sheets of material.

I remember this stuff! My dad used to use it to repair holes in the rag tops of MGBs and Triumphs.

On first reading I misread "tear" as "tear". I thought it was for taping people's eyes shut to keep them from crying.

This stuff is awesome! I use the Type B (vinyl only, blue box) to repair holes in the soft top on my Jeep. Prep with a little iso-propyl alcohol and slap it on the outside. Let it cure for 24 hours, and you're done. I did my first patch a year and a half ago, and it's still going strong, even with plenty of highway driving. Also, I've had no need to try to patch from the inside or redo any patches for any reason.

We just bought some of this a couple of weeks ago. We bought a big inflatable jumpy house on craigslist and used it to patch some slow leaks that were in it. Seems to work as advertised.
