Seriously? Police are investigating this? I paid a contractor $1000 to make some home repairs. He started 10 minutes into the project and then left. He never came back to finish the job. I checked his references before hiring and they were good. Later I found out on ripoffreports that this guy has done this to dozens of other people. The police in my town refuse to speak to me about it, won’t even look into it, regardless of how many people have been ripped off. And reports from new victims keep getting posted.
