If I was forced to live on a lonely island and could only take the works of one composer/artist with me I would choose Joe Jackson.

That video is as old as I am. It could absolutely pass on any pop rotation today.

I read A Cure for Gravity last summer and loved it. It's not a typical rock star memoir at all but part autobiography and part a window into his influences and artistic process. Written with a lot of humility and openness.

This man is a hero to me. It makes me sad that most people I talk do think he vanished in the early eighties when he's produced so many amazing albums in so many genres from big band to orchestral symphonic. His auto-biography, A Cure for Gravity is a fantastic read too!

Joe Jackson and Iggy Pop. Their approaches to music kind of go together if you think about it. This should be really interesting.

Listening to Iggy Pop on Boingboing window, made the MicroSoft crash. Had to listen to the lyrics a few times to get it right. Looks like Robert Bridges, Iggy does.

BTW, only the Iranian contributor mentioned by nationality. Mention every ones nationality !
